In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rob’s memory to assist his “pride and joy” with the Lexis Lane Education Fund at CEFCU.
Rob was born in Peoria on October 26, 1969, a son of George William Lane, Jr. and Sheila (Daniels). His father preceded him in death, along with his paternal grandparents, George William Lane, Sr. and Elsie Sprason and his maternal grandfather, Samuel Daniels. He was formerly married to MeLisa DeArcos.
He is survived by his daughter, Lexis Madison Lane of East Peoria; mother, Sheila Lane of East Peoria; sister, Julie Lane of Morton; and maternal grandmother, Elizabeth “Nan” Daniels of East Peoria.
Rob was employed with MacDonald Shell Oil Company on Pioneer Park in Peoria, since July 14, 1999, last working as their Office Manager.
He loved St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball, Green Bay Packer’s football, Peoria Rivermen hockey and all University of Michigan Wolverine sports. He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia; spending time at Hammer’s, TNT’s Sports Bar and The Rack; and playing softball for the team sponsored by Hammer’s.
Rob also enjoyed listening to Rock music, especially Nickelback and Godsmack and “Simple Man”, by Shinedown, was his favorite song.
First and foremost, he loved spending time with his daughter. He was extremely kind and loving and was a wonderful father, son, brother and friend to everyone. He never met a stranger.
Rob gave in death, as he gave in life. His spirit will live on in the many lives he will touch through tissue donation.
